Latest Updates from Our Project:

The Campaign Is Complete! Thank you so much!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Aug 06, 2020 at 09:05:17 PM

We did it! Our final campaign count includes 853 backers, 7 stretch goals (+ 1 bonus goal) unlocked, 35 days, and over 1970% of our original funding goal raised. But of course, this campaign is about so much more than just these figures. It is about this incredible community, and this unique puzzle experience that we are going to build, thanks entirely to your support. From all of your overwhelmingly positive messages, hearing about your experience with the sample puzzles, and the brainstorming sessions for new add-ons in the comments forum, we have enjoyed every minute. We are so excited to share these next steps with you.

What happens now? Over the next few weeks, be on the lookout for an invitation to the pledge manager in BackerKit, where you will be able to record your details for shipping, submit survey information, and check out the add-on store. We’ll make sure to send updates whenever key information, like final shipping addresses, is needed, so there will be plenty of notice ahead of time.

Keep Your Puzzle Skills Sharp: We’ll be leaving the sample puzzle raffle open until August 15th, so keep playing through the puzzles, checking out the hints, and sending us your solutions!

We will be in touch with campaign updates and fabrication diaries, and will be sharing more with you soon.  As always, if you would ever like to get in touch with us, please don’t hesitate to message us on Kickstarter,  or send us an email. We have loved hearing from you during this past month, and we can’t wait to keep the conversation going.

The entrance to the Labyrinth beckons, and the treasure awaits!

With enormous gratitude,

The EAG Team

P.S.

During the campaign, we gave shout-outs to a few other puzzle experiences that we are love. If you haven’t already, check out some of these other awesome projects, including:

The puzzle experiences from Crack-a-Nut Mysteries, especially their latest offering, S.O.U.P., which we had the opportunity to play recently and thoroughly enjoyed.

Sherlock’s Mysteries, which is still on Kickstarter, and is a superbly-crafted puzzle experience that comes in both a book and tabletop format.

Key Enigma - A package full of mysteries– an Escape Room in a Box that mixes puzzles, narrative, and technology to immerse you in a challenging experience so carefully designed that it may be impossible for you to distinguish reality from fiction.

Milestone: The Final Stretch Goal has Been Unlocked!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Aug 06, 2020 at 09:03:36 PM

After an incredible 33 days, we are entering the final stretch of the campaign. We have absolutely loved talking with all of you about the Labyrinth throughout the Kickstarter, and have enjoyed reading your messages about your experiences solving the sample puzzles. We are also so happy to be able to announce that the final campaign stretch goal has been unlocked! With this stretch goal, we will be adding one more puzzle box to the Labyrinth, for a grand total of 7 (2 large-scale locked boxes and 5 smaller puzzle boxes) included in the main game. The physical, hands-on puzzles within the Labyrinth are one of the elements that make this experience unique, and we cannot wait to share this new puzzle box with you.

To celebrate our final two days, and unlocking all of the original stretch goals, we are also adding in one new bonus stretch goal! This bonus stretch goal is for one additional artifact for backers (like a new secret pin, challenge coin, or embroidered patch for your team’s expedition) that will be hidden within one of the puzzles, waiting to be discovered. We are huge fans of Easter Eggs in games, and we are excited to debut this bonus goal for our backers.

Thank you all so much for all of your kind messages, comments, and support, and we look forward to these final two days!

Happy Puzzling!

Milestone(s): Stretch Goals, Puzzles, and Prototyping!
over 3 years ago – Tue, Aug 04, 2020 at 03:58:23 PM

Hello to All of Our Awesome Backers!

There is now less than a week remaining in the Labyrinth Puzzle Challenge Kickstarter campaign, and we are writing to share a few new and exciting developments. First, we unlocked a new stretch goal! With stretch goal number #5 unlocked, we will now be including a bonus enamel pin with every pledge at the Treasure Hunter In Training level and up. (You just may have to solve a few puzzles to find it.)

Second, we are posting a new sample puzzle tonight, in celebration of all of the backers who have already solved the first puzzles in our Kickstarter puzzle series. As a reminder, you can view the puzzles on our social media pages, and the printable files and the expanded hints for each clue in this document:

The campaign has been making some incredible progress these past weeks, and we have unlocked stretch goals for new rooms in the Labyrinth, as well as new puzzles to include in the game. Tyler has been spending some time in the workshop this week, and we're starting to develop new concept models for the additional rooms in the Labyrinth and a prototype for a new puzzle box door for the 7th stretch goal (fingers crossed that we can unlock this goal too). We’re adding a video to discuss some of the campaign updates, showcase a few of the fabrication tools that our team uses, and give a bit more insight into our puzzle design process. We plan on posting a series of design videos throughout our manufacturing timeline, and we look forward to continuing to share our fabrication journey with you.

As always, thank you so much for all of your support!

Happy Puzzling!

P.S. We would also like to take a moment to share another puzzle Kickstarter that we love, from our friends at Sherlock’s Mysteries!

Sherlock's Mysteries is an interactive puzzle adventure available in both book and board game formats. Step inside the mind palace of Sherlock Holmes to solve puzzles, unravel enigmas, decipher codes and race to save the life of the worlds greatest detective. It's just like a real escape room but from the comfort of your own home!

Stretch Goal #4 Has Been Unlocked!
almost 4 years ago – Fri, Jul 24, 2020 at 07:51:35 PM

Hello to all of our wonderful backers!

We are writing to share another exciting milestone in the campaign --- the fourth stretch goal has been unlocked! With this stretch goal, we will be adding a new physical mechanical puzzle into the Labyrinth Puzzle Challenge. The physical puzzles are one of the parts of the project that we are most excited about, and we love being able to include one more in the game. Now on to unlocking the enamel pins!

We would also like to share a few more updates on our end. This week, based on feedback from backers, we decided to add a new translation stretch goal at the $130,000 level. With this stretch goal, we will make a full translation available for the manual, story, and puzzles in the Labyrinth in Spanish, as well as at least one additional language, voted on by backers in the post-campaign surveys. Making the Labyrinth accessible to all backers has been a huge goal of ours from the beginning, and we are happy to be able to include this new stretch goal as part of the campaign.

Thank you so much for supporting the Labyrinth, and for all of your comments and messages these past two weeks. We look forward to the next two!

-The EAG Team

P.S. We would also like to take a moment to share a puzzle experience that we recently had the opportunity to play, and really loved: S.O.U.P., the latest offering from Crack-a-Nut Mysteries! Root of All Evil was one of the main sources of inspiration for the Labyrinth, and we are happy to say that S.O.U.P. is equally incredible and immersive. In S.O.U.P., you play as a new recruit for mysterious secret organization, solving clues to prove that you are worthy of joining their ranks. Along the way, you also uncover a conspiracy, and take part in a larger narrative that unfolds with the puzzles. There was so much high-quality content packed into S.O.U.P.’s envelopes, and a great balance between the mini-assignments and larger story. The experience also comes with access to a website, with very clear hints and a solution-checking forum for each clue. (We really appreciated the website in particular---it means that you can check a solution for a puzzle without spoiling the answer if you haven’t fully solved it yet.) Not to mention, it also came with a snazzy enamel pin in the welcome pack. The production value was off the charts, and we highly recommend S.O.U.P. to anyone who loves immersive puzzle experiences. To get your very own copy, and to explore other awesome puzzle games, check out Crack-a-Nut Mysteries’ Facebook Page!

almost 4 years ago – Wed, Jul 15, 2020 at 08:23:30 PM

Hello to all of our incredible backers!

As we continue in the second full week of the campaign, we wanted to share some exciting news---the third stretch goal has been unlocked! We are excited to add another paper puzzle to the game, and hope that there are more additions on the way. Based on the success of the campaign so far, we will also be adding a series of new stretch goals, so stay tuned.

Congratulations also to everyone who has solved the sample puzzles that we posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages! We have loved talking with you about your approaches to solving the clues. Please continue to post your puzzle theories in the comments of our social media pages, and feel free to message us for additional hints.
